SUMMARY:Africa Electric Mobility Forum
DESCRIPTION:UNEP in partnership with the SolutionsPlus project and the TUMI e bus mission is organising a week long event in Dar es Salaam Tanzania as part of the Africa Regional Support and Investment platform events. This is also part of SESA’s Community of Practice on electric mobility led by UNEP.  \nThe primary goals of the forum were to: \n\nBring together government officials from relevant ministries and entities involved in transport\, environment\, and energy to connect and enhance their knowledge of e-mobility\nDiscuss policies and barriers for the introduction of electric mobility in Tanzania\nShowcase private sector innovation in electric mobility\nConnect financiers with companies that need financing for electric mobility projects\nShare country and city level experiences with developing and implementing electric mobility projects\nLearn about the operation of electric buses and the end of life management of electric vehicle batteries\nExperience the set up and operation of the Dar es Salaam Bus Rapid Transit (DART)\nPresent support mechanisms for electric mobility in Africa\n\nThe Forum had 4 main parts\, each with slightly different specific objectives and target audiences: \n\nTanzania E-mobility Data and Policy Day by Solutions Plus\nWorkshop on Improving the Circularity of E-bus Batteries by TUMI E-bus Mission\nMeeting of the Africa Support and Investment Platform for E-mobility by UNEP – including the E-mobility Innovators fair\nTraining on Electric Buses by UITP – including visit to DART\n\nDiscover more
