GD-SO webinar on Green Transition in Africa: Post-Project Pathways for Sustainable Energy in Africa
This webinar aims to showcase the contribution of Green Deal Call projects focusing on diverse green energy needs in African contexts who have collaborated through the Green Deal Projects Support Office (GD-SO) Working Group on Clean Energy. Four of the five projects – REFFECT AFRICA, SophIA, ENERGICA, and SESA are at a very advanced stage of implementation (while SteamBioAfrica has ended back on 31 August 2024). It also aims to discuss – through a panel discussion – how can the achievements they have registered in the last 4 years can be maintained and scaled-up after their conclusion.
This webinar aims to:
- Share the main achievements registered by the projects
- Discuss how the projects’ impact can be sustained, exploited, scaled up, and translated into long-term benefits for communities and energy goals, focusing on the topics of:
- Business planning and ((e.g., Refrigeration: SESA and SophiA)
- Policy barriers and enablers
- Effective and long-lasting capacity building (skills creation)
- Funding challenges and life beyond the funding
