For all partner cities or counties, demonstration implementation plans (at least 5) will be developed (Task 4.1). By bringing together the knowledge gained in WP1, WP3 and linking to the activities planned in WP2, the plans will outline concrete steps for the ​demonstration phase helping to set the base for a successful implementation. The plans will include 1 modular living lab demonstration plan in Kenya, and 4 validation demonstration plans in Morocco, Ghana, Malawi and South Africa.

This document summarizes the activities of Work Package 3, Task 3.3 and outlines the approach and progress related to business model and business plan development across the five living labs in Kenya, Morocco, Ghana, Malawi, and South Africa. This document is the final project report and provide updates until August 2025.

Deliverable D3.2 provides a guideline of the desired functional requirements of the main energy technologies (energy innovations) that could possibly be deployed in the Living Labs. The functional requirements are identified, based on international standards (when applicable), and cover: system description, technical constraints, advanced functionalities, expected performance, operation and maintenance, reliability and expected costs of the solutions.

The present document is a complete and partner-validated draft of the Sustainable Energy Solutions catalogue which will be made available to the public in 2023 in a professionally designed publication format. The catalogue is composed of ten factsheets. Each factsheet focuses on a specific sustainable energy solution or cross-cutting aspect that is relevant within the SESA Living Labs. Factsheets cover both technological and business aspects of the solution, as well as other key dimensions that are relevant for the target audiences.

This report presents the scope and details of the work conducted under Task 2.5 regarding SESA’s Community of Practice (hereafter CoP), led jointly by UNEP-CCC and UNEP. The report will present a status of the CoPs activities and present an overview of the main outputs delivered by each of the CoP partners under the three Communities of Practice, namely: The Solar PV CoP, the Waste to Energy (hereafter WtE), and the Electric-mobility CoP (hereafter E-mobility).

The D2.4 Regional Training Activity Report under the SESA (Smart Energy Solutions for Africa) project documents capacity-building efforts aimed at accelerating the adoption of renewable energy and sustainable mobility solutions across Africa. The training activities targeted key stakeholders, including policymakers, industry professionals, SMEs, and students, equipping them with the technical, financial, and entrepreneurial skills necessary for clean energy transition.

This document outlines the SESA project’s peer-to-peer exchanges aimed at enhancing knowledge sharing on sustainable energy solutions. Between October 2022 and 2024, 10 exchanges engaged 127 participants from businesses, NGOs, and local and national governments, focusing on the technologies that have been tested in the SESA projects, as well as relevant aspects such as business models, policies, partnerships and lack of technical knowledge. The exchanges took place mainly in Africa but also in Europe, fostering collaboration, addressing local challenges, and supporting the implementation of smart energy solutions. The document also includes lessons learned and insights for improving future knowledge transfer activities within the project.

The Capacity Building Tools and Updates report (D2.2) provides an overview of the capacity building tools and methodologies that is being developed by SESA project partners under Work Package 2 (WP2): Capacity building, city-to-city cooperation and professional development. Task 2.2 (T2.2) Capacity tools and methodologies aims to offer capacity-building activities for professionals in the living labs and beyond, focusing on individual technical aspects related to the demonstration projects, business models, finance options, vision building, emerging ecosystems, and policy frameworks.

The aim of the plan is to provide an overview of the capacity building programme. It will be a single document resulting from the capacity and skills needs assessment on energy use in partner cities with all relevant stakeholders presenting a sound and tailored learning plan. The capacity plan will outline the learning topics/themes, the sequence, location and timing of training, capacity and skills building activities; the implementation of which will result capacity building, city-to-city cooperation and professional development

This deliverable report will describe the repository for managing and storing digital data for WP1 throughout the project. It will describe the key data management principles, notably in terms of data standards and metadata, sharing, archiving and preservation – activities within T1.3.

This report will present the plan of the data collection activities executed in relation to T1.3 for the analysis and evaluation of the demonstrators and the overall project activities. It will present the procedure(s) for generating, collecting, searching, accessing and using data from project partners and associated demo stakeholders during the lifetime of the project.

The Evaluation Framework provides the methodology for carrying out Impact Assessments under Task 1.3.

This report highlights the progress made on Deliverable 1.1 Toolbox for efficient and sustainable energy as it stands in M40 (month 40), which marks the final update for D1.1. The report introduces the task and explains the toolbox functionalities, the toolbox content collection, upload process, and the available content.
